Many ADHDers face challenges in the workplace due to aspects of their neurodivergence, such as executive functioning difficulties, procrastination, overwhelm, burnout, trouble prioritising and managing workload, and communication or interpersonal challenges.

The good news is there’s a little-known federally funded scheme – the Employment Assistance Fund – which offers up to $1,642 annually for ADHD Coaching. Huzzah!

What is the Employment Assistance Fund (EAF)?

The EAF is for people with disability and mental health conditions and their employers, who may need workplace changes, equipment or services to support them to do their job or get a job.

I don’t consider myself to have a disability though …

That’s ok, not all ADHDers do!  However ADHD is recognised as a disability in Australia under the 1992 Disability Discrimination Act (although it is not considered a primary disability under the NDIS but can be considered alongside a coexisting eligible condition).

How do I know if I’m eligible?

To be eligible for the EAF, you must:

  • be an Australian resident aged 14 or over

  • have an ADHD diagnosis (or other disability, including psychosocial)

  • have a job, or have been offered a job, where the work will go for at least 13 weeks (job seekers may also be able to apply)

  • be working at least 8 hours a week

  • If you're self-employed, you must have been working at least 8 hours per week for the past 13 weeks and earning at least the national minimum wage

  • Please note: You do not need to disclose your diagnosis to your employer. I do not report on your circumstances nor our sessions - to either EAF or your employer. Our time together is entirely confidential, even your attendance.

  • The application process is likely to take you around 30-60 minutes. If you’re self-employed it may be longer.

  • BOOK A FREE CALL with me to discuss the EAF and ways we can work together to help you reach your goals and overcome challenges, which will inform your application. You are under no obligation based on this chat.

  • You can also check out my FAQs for more info on who I am, my qualifications and approach to working together to see if we’re a good fit :)

About me - Faye Lawrence

I help busy ADHDers who are feeling stuck in patterns with alcohol, food, relationships, or work stress — especially the kind that leads to burnout and overwhelm. Together, we work toward balance, confidence and a life that feels more authentic and energising.

I'm a therapist, ADHD coach, and grey area drinking coach with lived experience of both ADHD and alcohol dependence. I’ve been alcohol-free since 2017, was late-diagnosed with ADHD in 2022, and I’m a mum to neurodivergent young adults. Before this work, I spent years in executive leadership — so I understand the pressure to keep it all together while quietly unravelling inside.

I take a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming, and trauma-informed approach to help you make changes that stick — on your terms. I hold degrees in psychology and counselling, and I’m a member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and Australian ADHD Professionals Association (AADPA).
