"I'm worried about my drinking but I don't fit the 'alcoholic' label"

Grey area drinking coaching · 1:1

You're not rock bottom. You're managing life mostly quite well. But you think about alcohol more than you'd like. You've set rules and broken most of them. The morning after, you're doing the forensic. Calculating. Cringing. Promising this time will be different.

Grey area drinking is the space between "I'm fine" and "I need rehab." It responds really well to the right support; not willpower, but something that looks at what alcohol has been doing for you, and what else could do it instead.

"I have ADHD. I'm frequently overwhelmed with life"

Late diagnosis hits differently. You spent decades thinking you were lazy, difficult, too much, not enough. Now you have an explanation and while it helps, it's also a lot to process.

Coaching isn't about fixing you. Your brain works differently and it needs tools and systems that support it, not more neurotypical ways that set you up for failure.

Whether you're an ADHDer, AuDHDer, or still figuring that out, this is where we start.

Breaking the Loop — ADHD and alcohol group program

"I need support for both: ADHD & Alcohol"

Breaking the Loop · 8-week group program

If you have ADHD/AuDHD and a complicated relationship with alcohol, they're almost certainly connected. ADHD brains run low on dopamine. Alcohol tops it up fast, without any of the effort other strategies require. It quiets the noise. Until it becomes another problem to deal with.

Breaking the Loop is built specifically for ADHDers. Not generic alcohol support with a neurodivergent sticker on it. Built from the ground up for how your brain actually works and by someone who's walked the path too.

Hi, I’m Faye.

I never thought I’d be where I am today after experiencing a lifetime of high functioning problem drinking, debilitating anxiety, eating disorders, chaos and burn out - all while juggling kids, career, study, relationships and general adulting.

I understand all too well the self-blame, frustration and shame that comes with repeating the same patterns over and again, but not understanding why - or how - to change them.

For decades, I felt powerless to do things differently. But I wasn’t - and nor are you. I’ve now been alcohol-free since 2017 and have also learnt to thrive (imperfectly) with a late diagnosis of ADHD at the age of 48.

These experiences set me on a personal growth and transformation trajectory that changed my life - breaking intergenerational cycles and shifting my behaviours and my identity.

I now hold degrees in both psychology and counselling, am a certified Grey Area Drinking Coach, ADHD Coach and registered counsellor. I work with a neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, strengths-based and integrative approach.

You’re a human being with inherent worth, not simply a diagnosis or a ‘problem’ to be fixed.

But sometimes we need someone to walk beside us, help us navigate our lives differently and find a path through our stuckness … that’s the work we do together.

What clients say

“It gave me insight into my patterns with alcohol which was extremely valuable and gave me great clarity.

With ADHD, Faye's coaching style and approach was a game changer in changing my mindset. I am now able to “notice things” as opposed to ruminating certain issues on repeat.”

— PC, Professional Organiser, 50s, Canada

“Going in I was hoping to just have someone to talk to about sobriety and navigating a sober social life. I achieved this - but she helped me address other areas of my life that were causing me a great deal of stress. What I got was a real change in mindset around my career, family, and life. She helped me see that I can lead a life that is congruent with who I am and take care of my responsibilities at the same time. She made me realise it doesn't have to be either one or the other. I thought she was amazing!”

— MT, Engineer, 40s, QLD

"I have worked with others in the past who told me what I needed to do to improve/change. In every case, I would fail to do what I had to instructed to do and would get down on myself.

Faye's approach seems to be to listen, probe, provide information and resources and help me determine what works best for me. It is an approach that works well for me as it keeps me motivated and in a positive state of mind.”
